Wendy Fortner is the wife of Charlie Fortner, who is the President of the Texas Association of Propane Dealers. At the National Propane Gas Convention in Memphis, Tennessee, Wendy was present with other wives of board members of the convention. Wendy, with Tru Wigant and Jane Ann Kuykendall, make up an informal group known as the Platinum Circle. Peggy initially joined the Platinum Circle while she cozied up to Wigant, but Wendy and the others shunned after her husband Hank vomited on Tru Wigant during a drunken rant. To make it up to Wendy, Tru and Jane, Peggy promised to pay for spa treatments in full for all of them. At the same time, she also planned on showing the infidelity of their husbands in order to get them to retract their firing of Hank, but the wives did not find out since the men promised to give Hank his job in return for Wendy, Tru, and Jane not discovering their prostitute party.
