History[]
Season 11[]
When his community college had a program where students would create games and have middle school students at Tom Landry Middle School test them, Sam began to work on his project. At the middle school, students like Bobby were allowed to test the video games as a substitute for participating in P.E. class. In the middle school's gaming room, he was sitting down gaming when Hank claimed to Principal Moss that the young man needed to go outside. Seeing Hank in his work uniform, Sam mistook him for a janitor and asked him to clean the boys' bathroom because of the stench. In response, Hank denied being a janitor and told him that he needed to show him some respect. As Hank rebuffed the other man's claims, Sam was awed at his alleged aggressiveness.
Later, Sam and his friend went to Strickland Propane since they were interested in Hank's outfit and job, especially his work cap. As they examined a device, Hank noticed them and ordered them not to touch anything. Sam asked how he could get his work cap, to which Hank sternly answered that he had to dedicate his life to propane to receive one. Smacking the student's hand away, Hank retorted that he was not qualified to wear one of them, then mocking the boy in a condescending voice. Sam's friend imitated Hank's voice, making him laugh but annoying Hank. Frustrated, Hank ordered them to leave.
Subsequently, Sam and his friend developed the PC video game Pro-Pain! using Strickland Propane and Arlen as a setting. Additionally, the game has very similar game play to the popular video game series Grand Theft Auto, and the main player of the game was an animated Hank, and soon Hank himself found out about the game and his likeliness when Joseph and Bobby tested the game. Buck Strickland had no interest in Pro-Pain! because the video game was in the public domain, and several people throughout Arlen started playing Sam's video game.
About a week later, when Hank became addicted to the video game to the point that he would ignore spending time with his family, Peggy found Sam and his friend at Dark Star. There, Sam complimented the genre of body horror and was disappointed that his friend did not know about body horror. Coming up to them, Peggy asked them for advice on how to get Hank to stop playing the game. Sam assured her that the game would fall out of style, but Peggy replied that nothing fell out of style for Hank. Thinking of other ways, the student informed her that two things could stop a gamer: boredom or humiliation. Accordingly, Peggy decided to make Hank quit by humiliating him, so Sam and his friend gave her permission to access commissioner mode, which allowed her to play with various cheats such as invincibility. When humiliating Hank, she used the option to end the program for good, snapping Hank out of his addiction.
