The Honorable Judge Roland McFarland is a judge with the Texas State court system. He works at the Arlen County Court. He makes a single appearance in the Season 2 episode "Jumpin' Crack Bass (It's a Gas, Gas, Gas)".

History[]

Season 2[]

He is known for his creative and unique sentencing policies such as sentencing Billy Ray Walters to spend 90 days in the cab of in import pick-up truck after he attempted to steal Hank's truck. McFarland is also the presiding judge for the when Hank and Dale are on trial for purchasing rocks of crack which they mistook for fishing bait and also for the insurance fraud case "Fidelity Mutual Insurance vs. Layaway Ray's Bait Shop." McFarland is also stern when Dale refused to remove his hat and ordered one of his two bailiffs, Duke, to gag him when he became disruptive; Duke, who appears to be McFarland's favorite bailiff, is a middle-aged African American with a mustache and white hair, while McFarland's other bailiff is an unnamed, blonde-haired white male who resembles Boomhauer. McFarland described himself as "a bit of an angler myself" and ordered Hank and Dale to prove that they were purchasing the crack rocks as fishing bait by going out to the lake and catch fish with him and Duke, otherwise they would've served 24 months (two years) "making Texas state license plates." He orders them released after Hank secretly catches a small fish with a worm; the fish were no longer into the previously addictive crack bait Hank was using. He is voiced by former Bill Clinton campaign strategist and cable tv political commentator James Carville. He also bears a physical resemblance with Carville as well.
