Peter Sterling is the wealthy owner of Earth Cleaners, a thriving business that specializes in picking up feces ("90% dog, 10% other" in his own words). He only appears once in the Season 10 episode "Business Is Picking Up".

Appearance[]

Peter is a Caucasian man with a skinny build, pale skin, and short brown hair. Outside of work he tends to wear polo shirts and pants, and at work he wears a red and black uniform consisting of a cap with an earth symbol, aviator shades, a jacket, jeans, gloves and gray sneakers.

History[]

Peter Sterling is the owner of Earth Cleaners and has his own office, as well as a large house with many amenities inside. He is married to Sarah Sterling.

Season 10[]

He participated in Career Day at Tom Landry Middle School and began to work with Bobby Hill. The boy was initially not pleased with what it was until Peter showed up what it is like to be an entrepreneur, which resulted in Bobby riding with him all over town on his four-wheel ATV and using the pooper-scooper vacuum. When Hank disapproved of it, Peter understood that Hank was giving Bobby a hard time. Accordingly, he invited the entire Hill family for a barbecue at his home, during which Peter commended Peggy and Hank on how Bobby is hardworking, dependable and will go far in life, though the two Hills become disgusted with the manure cleaning business.

Later Hank visited Peter at his office, and they had a conversation about his concerns and agreed to create a staged scenario to discourage Bobby from his vomit-cleaning business. For the plan, he went to Arlen Community College to clean a Port-a-John, where to his horror, he was spotted by Jimmy Wichard and two of his friends, whom he referred to as "The Mashers", decided to pick on him, with Peter telling Bobby that in his job, it is inevitable that some people want to beat him up, and Jimmy and his buddies do it all the time, even though Peter had paid Jimmy and his friends to stage a beating in order to dissuade Bobby. However, true to Jimmy's stupidity, he and his gang go beyond roughing up Peter; locking him in a Port-a-John then shoving it downhill; this culminates in him being taken to the hospital to be treated for a couple of broken bones and some scrapes, and was visited by Bobby.

Trivia[]

  • Peter was the show's first appearance of Johnny Knoxville, who would go onto to voice Hoyt Platter in "Life: A Loser's Manual".
  • Peter's house address number, 237, is a reference to the 1980 horror film The Shining, with room 237 being the room number of a drowned woman of The Overlook Hotel.
