Appearance[]
Patch is an adult Caucasian man with a skinny build, a slightly deeper tan than Jeff, and short, curly blond hair styled with a mullet. He is seen wearing a red short-sleeved dress shirt, blue jeans, and brown shoes.
History[]
In his childhood, Patch would frequently compete against his brother in various aspects such as sports and dating women. Later on in life when he was an adult, Patch began a relationship with Katherine Hester, who was Jeff's ex-girlfriend. Eventually, the two became engaged, so they went to Arlen to begin their wedding plans.
Season 8[]
Not telling his brother about his own engagement, Patch visited the alley to greet his brother, who found out about the engagement by chance when he met Katherine at a gas station the previous night. Parking in front of them, he introduced his fiancée to Hank Hill and his friends. Patch tried to give Jeff a noogie, but the latter was annoyed and restrained him in turn. Nonetheless, the two brothers were happy to see each other again. Meeting Jeff's neighbors and friends, he spoke with Dale Gribble and made him laugh with a joke. Calling for everyone's attention, Patch announced that he wanted his brother Jeff to be his best man. Reluctantly, Jeff agreed, much to Patch and Katherine's delight. He and Katherine were also amused by Bobby pretending to be a ringbearer with a hamburger in lieu of a wedding ring.
Later, Patch went to Jeff's backyard and performed a cannonball in Jeff's hot tub, much to the latter's annoyance since he was reciting his best man's speech. At that point, Luanne Platter dropped by to return Boomhauer's Walkman to him, which she broke. Attracted to her, Patch sat on a lawn chair and shamelessly offered money to Luanne to sit on his lap like a stripper. Jeff apologized for his little brother's behavior and then privately reprimanded him since he was going to be married soon. When Patch joked that he wanted "fast food" before getting married, Jeff punched him in the arm, beginning a physical altercation. The two Boomhauers rolled into the street as they wrestled one another, and Hank and Bill immediately restrained them. Patch claimed that Jeff attacked him out of jealousy for marrying his ex-girlfriend, but they were interrupted by Kahn Souphanousinphone encouraging them to transform their fight into a duel. Angry at his brother's sleazy behavior, Jeff quit the role of best man, shocking everyone. Needing a best man, Patch pleaded with Hank to be his best man, which he agreed to.
The next day, Patch came to the alley and learned about Hank making plans for Patch's bachelor party that night, to which Patch happily replied that he already hired professional entertainers for the party, adding that the head entertainer would call Hank. At the bachelor party inside Hank's house, Jeff and the men were bored with Hank's card game. Pulling a prank on Patch that was pulled on him, Dale and Bill at their own bachelor parties years ago, Hank asked him to get him a beer. Patch got up and realized that he had a plastic ball and chain attached to his leg, making the guys laugh. Turning his head back to the kitchen, Patch was met by Jeff, who wanted to make amends and handed him a case of beer. Hearing a knock on the door, Patch was excited since his "entertainment" was about to commence. He subsequently sat in a chair and was giddy at the strippers arriving, angering Jeff and Hank. At the same time, Peggy Hill's group and Katherine entered the house and were surprised at the sight. Patch immediately blamed Jeff for hiring the strippers, lying about his own intentions. Consequently, Jeff was shunned from the party, and Patch had to disinvite him from the wedding rehearsal dinner.
Before Hank went to the rehearsal dinner, he found out from Jeff that Patch had actually hired the strippers. That night, at Catfish Plantation, Patch pulled out Katherine's chair for her, and they sat down. Wondering where Hank was, Patch expressed worry that his best man would not make his speech. Hearing him mimic Hank, Peggy was impressed and responded that she did a good impression of her own son Bobby. When Hank and Jeff arrived at the same time, Patch ogled the waitress who handed a plate to him, but he saw Hank arrive and was relieved. To Patch's surprise, Hank hinted through his short speech that he knew about Patch's adulterous actions, but to both their shock, Katherine interrupted to confess that she could not marry Patch because she realized that she was only marrying him to relive her previous relationship with Jeff Boomhauer.
Hearing his fiancée claim that she perceived Jeff's alleged hiring of strippers as a romantic move, Patch desperately admitted that he hired the women, adding that he "spent Thanksgiving with them hoes." Completely shocked, Katherine stated that Patch being the client of the women was disgusting, not romantic, and she immediately returned her engagement ring to him. As Katherine stormed out the building, Patch took back his confession and accused Hank of hiring the strippers, alleging that Hank "loves hookers". He chased after her, but she was adamant in ending the relationship for good.
Season 11[]
In "Lucky's Wedding Suit", Patch was later seen attending the wedding between Lucky Kleinschmidt and Luanne Platter.
