"Full Metal Dust Jacket" is the one hundred-thirty-fourth episode of King of the Hill. It was first aired on January 5, 2003. The episode was written by Dan McGrath and directed by Adam Kuhlman.
Summary[]
Peggy takes over the lease of a bookstore, but when the bookstore's business plummets, she allows Dale and his gun group to sell firearms at the store.
Plot[]
After being rejected from a ladies' book club, Peggy buys the lease of a bookstore where the members bought their books. She is ecstatic about this, until she learns books are not exactly hot items in the Arlen economy. Dale has been using the store space to sell unregistered firearms and convincing the local cops that the guns were part of a free giveaway, as well as paying Peggy part of the profits, or her "cut" for allowing this on her property. Peggy is uneasy with this, but sees this black market activity as the only way to stay afloat. Eventually Peggy goes to a book club meeting and makes a fool of herself when she came across as a "windbag" in front of the core members of the book club, when it is revealed that no one really wanted to talk about the books which they didn't read at all. After feeling down on her luck, Peggy, with Hank's help, realizes that the men buying guns were actually reading these books she was giving away. Delighted, she soon starts up a book club of her own in her living room with Dale's gun clientele as her members.
