Film Roman, Inc. was an animation studio founded by Phil Roman in 1984. It has produced the animation for not only King of the Hill, but also for The Simpsons (seasons 4 to 28), The Critic and Family Guy (production season 1). They've also produced content for children and family audiences, including Garfield and Friends, Bobby's World, Mighty Max, The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat, The Mask: The Animated Series, Tom and Jerry: The Movie and numerous Marvel Comics animated TV shows.
The company ceased operations on May 1, 2018, after getting forfeited by the Secretary of State of California and the California Franchise Tax Board.
When the show was revived for Season 14 in 2025, animation production was taken over by 20th Television Animation, which also co-produces the revival.
