King of the Hill Soundtrack[]

"Free Fallin'" is the opening track from American musician Tom Petty's debut solo album, "Full Moon Fever" (1989). The song was written by Petty and his writing partner for the album, Jeff Lynne. Petty also provided the voice for the recurring character Lucky on King of the Hill.

Deana Carter's version of "Free Fallin'" was included as a track on the soundtrack to the television series King of the Hill, released in 1999. Carter also sang this version live at Farm Aid '99 on September 12, 1999, in Bristow, Virginia at Nissan Pavilion. The musical lineup that year, included Susan Tedeschi, Keb' Mo', Barenaked Ladies, Dave Matthews Band, John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson, and Neil Young.
