Dallas is the largest metropolitan area in Texas and the closest major city to Arlen.
Arlen residents tend to follow Dallas sports teams such as the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL and the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball. The Hills usually travel to Dallas when they need to fly out of a major airport or visit a shopping destination that doesn't have a location in the Arlen area.
Despite his enthusiasm for the Cowboys, and Dallas's intricate association with his beloved Texas culture, Hank often expresses disdain for the city, which he believes to be a hotbed of crime and sexual immorality.
