At the first meeting for beauty pageant contestants for the yearly Mrs. Heimlich County Beauty Pageant, Shears sat on stage while the contestants arrived. When she was called up to speak at the podium, she remarked that it was an honor but it would be a sad week for her since she would hand over her crown to the next Mrs. Heimlich County. When the contestants began to get to know one another, Shears was seen speaking with Luanne Platter, even letting Platter try on her crown. According to what Luanne learned about her, Shears can play the lapstick guitar and has 9 percent body fat, all of which is in her breasts. In the end, it was not revealed who became the next Mrs. Heimlich County among the various contestants after Shears's reign.
